TSH What?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2004

So a few weeks ago, I went in for my annual woman appointment. The doctor preceded to feel my neck and make me swallow – which I thought was strange – since he has never felt my neck before. He said that my thyroid was enlarged and that I needed to go get a blood [...]

Passionate for The Passion

Wednesday, March 31st, 2004

I finally got a chance to see The Passion tonight. It was very moving and very gory. I think Mel did a good job of pulling out your emotions by using Mary. I think I now understand more of God’s love for His son as compared to a mother’s love for her son. I know [...]

Exhasuting weekend

Sunday, March 28th, 2004

I took Friday as my Spring Break vacation day. Unfortunately I didn’t go to Mexico, Miami or any beach. Instead, I went to the zoo which is almost like Mexico or Miami. Right. Anyway, we walked around in circles while the animals stared at us for 5 long, hot hours. And, as if I weren’t [...]

Miserable

Friday, March 26th, 2004

I went to the doctor today thinking she might be schooled in some helpful wisdom only to find out that she couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong with me.
Symptoms:
Sore throat (7 days)
Congested (7 days)
Throbbing head
Achy (one day)
Fever (one day)

Red, bloodshot eyes
Tests ran:
Strep
Tonsilitis
Mono
Conclusion:
Some sort of bacterial infection – prescribe the usual [...]

Sickening Border

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004

Nothing is going on other than I’m sicker than a dog (when do you know a dog is sick?). I have the crud that is making its rounds – sore throat, congestion and achy body. My head feels like it’s going to explode into several million pieces. But here I am, working from home at [...]

The Best Husband and Father

Sunday, March 21st, 2004

I think I have the best husband in the entire world. He is also the best father to our daughter. Now let me tell you why. My sister called me this morning at about 10:00 am and asked me if I wanted to go to the mall. Of course I did. So I got dressed [...]

Anyone want Clinton's boyhood home?

Thursday, March 18th, 2004

If so, you can bid on Clinton’s 1000 sqaure foot home in Hope, Arkansas. Better hurry, auction ends April 7th. (If you can’t view the link, click here to view an image of the auction.)
I just want to know what people are thinking when they bid on this small shack which is probably worth less [...]

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Thursday, March 18th, 2004

In honor of St. Paddy’s day, I want to recommend an odd Irish film. It’s called Waking Ned Devine. It’s very offbeat but I thought it was humorous and Rotten Tomatoes gave it a FRESH rating of 77%.
The storyline is about an old man who wins the lottery in Ireland but dies with the [...]

I teach entomology at the University of Illinois.
I have a son named Spencer in Illinois.
